Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that the Government will take steps to provide a Kerosene subsidy for low-income families and people engaged in fisheries and plantations sectors.
“This subsidy applies to low-income families dependent on Kerosene, as well as to persons employed in fisheries and plantations sectors,” he said. Accordingly, he also stated that steps will be taken to continuously supply Kerosene especially to the fishing community as they are badly affected with the scarcity of Kerosene.
