During the 57th Annual Meeting in Tbilisi, donors and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) committed to replenishing the Asian Development Fund (ADF) 14 and Technical Assistance Special Fund (TASF) 8 with USD 5 billion, a notable 22% increase from the previous cycle. ADF 14, earmarked for 2025–2028, will allocate over $2.5 billion from donors, including new contributors Armenia and Georgia. This replenishment aims to combat development setbacks and climate crises, with a focus on small island developing states and conflict-affected areas, including Sri Lanka. ADB also plans to provide $16.7 billion in concessional loans during this period, ensuring a ratio of more than $8 in grants and concessional loans for every $1 in donor contributions, thereby facilitating sustainable development and resilience-building efforts in Sri Lanka and other partner countries.
