Budget Performance Indicators: The Case of Gender Responsive Budgeting

Sri Lanka developed 12 KPIs in 2018 to track its commitment towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals aimed at ensuring gender equality and empowerment of women and girls.  

While setting Gender KPIs was a progressive step by the Sri Lanka government, their lack of progress despite noticeable expenditure is a point of concern.  

See the response to an RTI request we filed regarding one such KPI below where 12.3 Mn was spent but no progress was made.
