Verité’s Budget Promises platform tracks the the government’s implementation of select budget proposals in the annual Budget Speech and the availability of information on progress for these proposals. The assessment of the implementation for the year 2017, the first year of the platform, revealed that nearly 50% of these “Budget Promises” were either undone, or the implementation status was unknown.
